teh One Star for Every Hundred Men: WWII Memorial

The stars for fallen soldiers at the World War II Memorial

Photograph: Each star along this wall at The World War II memorial in Washington, DC, represents the deaths of 100 men. There are many, many stars. Fortunately, my grandfather is not represented there. He fought with the 10th Mountain Division in Italy during the war. He was there for the dedication of the Memorial in 2005.
