NewsvineMy HP Pavilion zt3010us laptop just bit the dust this week. Looks like something on the system board went out. They’re going to swap it out, and hopefully things will be back to normal soon. It’s a little disconcerting though. In my experience, electronics either fail fairly soon after purchase or not for a long, long time. This one was somewhere in between as I’d had the laptop for two and a half years, and wasn’t really looking to get a new one at this point. I’m still a little doubtful of whether it can be repaired. The other rule of electronics in my experience is that it’s built to be disposable, no matter how expensive the device. Repairing electronic equipment is anathema in this day and age. My hope of course is that they fix it—it’s a decent little laptop, and it has served me well.
