Maltese Cross Happy New Year!

Howdy, folks. Thanks for a great 2005, and here’s looking forward to an even better 2006. Hope you had a good one, and many good wishes for the year to come. It’s certain to be a year of change and a year of moving forward.

As I look back on 2005, I see many good things that happened in the online world. Faust Gertz joined this blog. A lot of people I know started blogging this past year. It’s been an interesting year online. I’ve also seen a few of my favorite blogs drop off in activity. As a flood of new bloggers came onto the scene, some of the old school bloggers I know hung up their hats. But all’s good. I suspect some of the old timers will be back, if and when circumstances permit. It’s been a year of solidification of the blogging movement. The kinds of doublings of growth that Technorati has tracked will definitely peak this year. There will be increasing numbers of people starting blogs but that growth will diminish, and I suspect there will be some people who for whatever reasons will abandon their newfound hobby.

I should note for the record that Manufactured Environments has switched web hosting providers from Pair Networks to DreamHost. We made the switch yesterday, and everything seems to be running well. Let me know if you seen any glitches. Here’s to a wonderful 2006!
