three weeks later & what has happened? i’m still listening to “reich remixed” constantly. perhaps more importantly i’ve set about updating the manufacturedenvironments.com website. i’ve created a new front page [http://manufacturedenvironments.com/]. i’ve also updated the music page somewhat — adding some mp3 files and adding a few more albums in my collection. check it out here: [http://manufacturedenvironments.com/].
at any rate, things are well. my career as an adjunct professor continues. the end of the semester is starting to come into sight, and the students have some projects to work on before then. i’ve learned so much being in the classroom. i’m sure to improve things next semester.
i’ve been a little bad about correspondence the past couple of weeks. if i haven’t emailed you recently (and you’re a friend) be on the lookout for some email this week. i’ve forwarded a few emails lately, including one entitled “painfully bad analogies,” which positively tickled my funny bone. email me if you’d like to get a copy.
two things i’ve affirmed: 1) do not buy more house than you can afford and 2) buying a home is much more affordable than one might imagine. i’ve done well on this front and have been living in my own place for several months now. the early years of a mortgage are spent paying a lot of interest, and i’m curious to see how the tax deduction for all of this turns out next year. one thing for sure: owning beats renting.
the interesting thing to me about this website is the people that come across it. i’ve had old friends from high school that i haven’t talked to in 10 years email me because of it. i see lots of hits from local internet sources, and i wonder: are these people i know? the stats are kind of fascinating — one gets to see “referer” information. this is especially interesting from search engines because one gets to see what people searched for in search engines and ended up at this website. since the beginning of the year, people have searched for hundreds of things and ended up at manufacturedenvironments.com. in a future blog entry i’ll list some of the more interesting search terms. people seem to search for a lot of different stuff — some of it expected — and some of it totally odd and completely fascinating. what do they hope to find? does manu.envi.com fulfill their expectations? one hopes so — one hopes they find something a little unexpected and a little more interesting than the next site.
i’ve got a couple of things to do on the website. i want to add a few recent book reviews and also redesign my blog pages. and then? and then i’ll be ready to relaunch the site. with all of the areas of the site updated i’m looking forward to the relaunch. are you on my email list? email with a message of interest to get updates from this site. my mass-emailings are always looking for more recipients.
good day to you all. take care.
