So here’s life from the other end of the stethoscope. I’m listening to Cassius — happy, free & French. What more to life is there?
We ease down broken sidewalks looking for the grass growing up between the cracks.
I spin house and techno for my friends — my turntables feeding my creativity — I scratch and loop. The beats are endless.
Dear friends, it is a big day today! Keep the emails coming!
The day is like a leitmotif — I’m writing these short, sweet paragraphs. It seems I am indulgent. [[ “my feelings for you have always been free” ]]
Kristin sent me an email the other day. She’s up at Northwestern working on a degree. How sweet of her to think of me after all these years…. Like so many people my age she’s getting married. C’est la vie.
And speaking of age — I AM IN FLUX! Yeah!
Life is beautiful, said the Italian. I was in the cafe this morning as the businessmen walked in. They plunked their 1,000 lire coins on the counter. The barista slid tiny, plastic shot glasses across the counter. The men heaped sugar into their espresso shots, and then with a swift practiced motion, poured the burning hot coffee down their throats. They were gone almost as soon as they had arrived. An espresso shot for the day. An espresso shot for life.
Give me love, people!
